Hello,

Thank you for your interest in my apartment, it is still available. I will try to give you as many details as I can regarding the apartment in the following email.

The full address of the apartment ( 2bed/2bath ) is 349 McLeod St, Ottawa, ON K2P 0P4, Canada. The rent for the entire apartment is 1500$/month utilities included (heat, hydro, water, electricity, maintenance fees, 2 parking spots, laundry in-suite, washer and dryer also included, cable and internet). You will have full access to all building amenities. Just in case repairs are needed there, I will cover the costs, so no worries. The price I'm asking is below the market because I want to find a responsible tenant to take good care of the place. Pets are allowed. I have attached the pictures so you can see that it is in excellent condition.
Everything is just like in the pictures, fully equipped with all the appliances you need, very clean and well kept. The apartment can be rented furnished or if you want you can use your furniture and I will deposit mine in the storage unit.
Please send me a description of yourself so I can make an idea who will rent the place. How many people will stay in the apartment, where do you work, how long are you planning to stay in the apartment.

A rental listing with a suspiciously low price and too-good-to-be-true conditions appeared on a legit website, so I contacted them and got an email :

You will have full access to all building amenities. Just in case repairs are needed there, I will cover the costs, so no worries. After replying to this guy about my ability be to a good renter he sent this which rang all warning bells in my head:

The apartment will be available for a long term. My son was living in the apartment during his university studies. He was accepted to complete his PHD degree at the Nanyang Technical University in Singapore. His program there will be for the next 6 years plus another 4 years as an assistant for the university, so a total of 10 years.
In 2015 me and my wife decided to follow our dream and enjoy our retirement in Spain. My wife is originally from Spain and I fell in love with this country. It's the first time I am renting the apartment therefore I need to make the necessary arrangements for the viewing and paperwork with a global management company called Cushman & Wakefield ( www.cushmanwakefield.com ). I think using a professional company it's much easier and convenient for both of us. Using Cushman & Wakefield involves three parties: me as the owner, you as a potential tenant, and Cushman & Wakefield as a responsible third party authorized to handle this transaction.
We will use their services until you inspect the apartment and sign the lease agreement. After that, you can deposit the monthly payments directly to my bank account or set up a suitable payment method for both of us.

Since I found a scam on this website for exact same address but a different name used (and a bit tweaked cover story) this is 100% scam.
