I am someone who was and still is looking for a part-time job, and my mom, who works at DISD, got an email from a co-worker. I read the email, applied for the job, and spoke to someone name Chad H***** who presented himself as a businessman who needed an assistant for his company Whinstone Data Center. We had email correspondence that they simulated as the interview process and said he needed someone to help him with tasks like buying toys for charity and told me that they would wire me money to do those tasks for him and promised to send me a verified transfer via a wire (which would include the money I would need for the assistant position as well as my pay for the week). What they wanted me to do was to transfer that money via cash app transfers (2000 was sent to someone with the tag $dh24738, under the name Wyatt C********* and $2000 in Vanilla gift cards that would be sent to a Bitcoin atm. I went and also filed an FTC report and a report with the local Dallas Police Department as well as claims with my bank. The officers at the station informed me that this was their way of trying to launder or wash the money they had originally sent me.
