Westie puppies for loving homes

I found this name on the AKC site so I thought they were ok, the AKC guaranteed them as reputable. So I contacted them through messenger and they responded the next day. It wasn’t long until she was asking for a half down ($400) to hold the female Westie. I told them I want to come and see the dog before I paid anything. When I responded later asking if we could come see the dogs that night apposed to the next day they were slower to respond but said the next day would be better. Then they sent me a message saying they were chatting with another lady and if she put a deposit she may just let her have it and if there were any takers she would let me know…clearly trying to force my hand for the deposit. I told them to go ahead and let the other lady have it and that we had found another dog to go see. Pretty sure they are scammers. When they asked for the deposit and I said I would prefer to take my chances until I saw the dog they sent me a message saying “it was PROBABLY 100% refundable”. Uhh probably? I am really surprised by 2 things, how hard it is to find a Westie, and secondly how pervasive Westie scammers are. So instead I am driving 2 1/2 hours to see the one breeder that I know isn’t a scam 😞. Below is the pic the scammer sent me, saying it was my girl.

We called this place looking for a Westy and the pictures they sent were two of the same of a Lucy and a Roxy. First off Roxy as a male? The pictures they sent had the same background they looked identical. I contacted the sooner veterinarian hospital to get some background on this place. They are also in Norman Oklahoma and the doctors and the other employees have never heard of this place/breeder. I called this place of business at 1-405-322-5558 and as I was discussing it with him he hung up on me. The Westies for this month were $650 half price. They wanted $150 to ship him, But when we noticed the pictures look alike we put two into together. When you look at their website you can tell that the other dogs are different but these particular to look identical. And when he hung up on me it’s a pretty good indication also the veterinarian hospital told us to stay away from there because they haven’t heard of them.

I sent an email. They responded immediately. They asked questions looking for a good home for the dogs

We agreed that we would come pick up the dog. They requested a deposit which I sent on Zelle and I have never heard from them again.

The scam is a pet scam selling Westhighland Terrier puppies. The website popped up as an ad when googling westie puppies in my area. I went to the website where it said they had puppies available so I emailed them. After communicating through email I realized it was a scam. They responded quickly (like auto-responses). When I asked for more information and pictures they said the pictures on the website were the most recent. I asked for information about the parents and they never told me their names but sent pictures. On a reverse image search I discovered the photos were stolen from other websites. They asked for $800 plus $200 for the travel fee, asked what bank I use, then requested that the payment be sent through Zelle to a different email address at [email protected]. They then emailed me a "bill of sale" to sign (which I did not sign) that included the name Emmanuel Hardstrom and an address and phone number. This all happened within a very short time of me asking about the puppies.
