Type of a scam Identity Theft

An unknown person was able to log online to Western Union, create an account using my husbands name. Somehow this person was able to obtain our checking account tracking number, With no type of checks or balances by Western Union this person made two separate withdrawals from our checking account. They did not need any type of account password or protected information. They entered the wrong phone number. This appears to be the only information they needed. Our bank (Commonwealth Central Credit Union) said that computers talked to computers and our funds were simply released. Western Union should not allow this activity.

We are very safe and it is scary that anyone can open an account on-line by simply entering a name and account number. All someone has to do is steal a check out of a mailbox. Bank blames Western Union. We went through hell with this.
