West Realty in Albuquerque New Mexico. This company is using the identity of a licensed New Mexico Realtor. They are using my name *** ****, license number, and office number.

The scammer is contacting people about their time shares and/or investments.

Scammer called & asked if I would be willing to sell my 2 wks. in Mexico. I said I would. I was then sent a letter of intent with an offer. I countered the offer & added that the sales price would be Net to Me, as I would pay no commissions, closing costs, transfer fees, taxes, etc. Buyer agreed & I was sent a contract which stated that I would indeed have to pay the transfer fees, as required by Mexican Law & the Resort. I called the resort & they confirmed. I then wired the transfer fee to an escrow account set up in my name. They sent a bank statement in which the buyer had deposited the sales price. Then, they said there were taxes owed. I reminded them that I would not pay any taxes. The buyer deposited the tax amount into my escrow account. I then wired the funds. Later, it was more taxes. Same scenario, but before I wired any more funds, I had my Broker call the bank at the phone number on the statement. They confirmed the account & the total amounts deposited. I wired the funds & the closing date arrived. No money was forthcoming & then I was told the Mexican government had seized the funds, but they could be released for exit for $70K. I refused to pay it & they threatened to sue me for breach of contract & the Mexican government would also file a civil suit. I still refused, but they keep e-mailing & calling, so I Googled the main bank's information & gave it to my Broker. She then called the headquarters of the bank & was told that the client number (me) was not valid. They did say, however, that the account number was good, but not in my name. No name nor balance would be given. My Broker also tried to call the man who signed the Custom's Seizure Letter, but could not reach him. They answered the Custom's number & put her through, but he did not answer his phone for 2 days. This is where I stopped communicating with them.
