I applied for a remote job with Wellmed back in September of 2020. I was contacted by email all through the employment process by Susan Lee, MD, recruiter from Wellmed. I sent all of my personal information to her either through email or Trillian account. I received confirmation that I did get hired and was told I would be receiving a “start up check” to buy the necessary equipment that I needed for my home office. I received the check within 24 hours was told to deposit it so I did. The check had a hold for 2 days and then I was told to send money to certain “vendors” by Susan. I paid everything I was told to pay and thought I would be working by now but I am not. I have not heard one word or received one email nor triallian message from her. I received a statement from the bank saying that the check bounced and now I’m stuck with a negative balance of $4900. I’m barely getting back on my feet still no job and I don’t know where else to turn to.
