Our business received an e-mail asking for payment of a past due invoice from December 6, 2022 from a company posing as Linked In. The email was sent to us from someone posing as the owner of our company requesting that I promptly pay this past due invoice but the email address that the email came from was not the owners email. When I attempted to ask what company the invoice was for I was again sent a copy of an invoice from Linked In along with a copy of a W-9 for their company from the same bogus email address asking for immediate ACH payment. Our company does not have a Linked In profile nor have we ever requested any information about obtaining a company profile.
