Received a "fake" invoice in the mail from this web hosting company. It looks like a legitimate invoice... very deceptive. Only in the details of letter does it stated it is NOT a bill. Even states "failure to renew web hosting by expiration date may result in website outages..." ... I am glad my wife showed me this letter.

I received an envelope in the mail yesterday. Inside the envelope were a paper and a return envelope. The paper appears to be an invoice from Web Host Agents in the amount of $180, and it says that it is for "Yearly Web Hosting - *** (which is my website). I know that I'm not using Web Host Agents for my website hosting, so I was immediately suspicious. After doing some research, I saw many other complaints about this company and their fake invoices, so I decided to file a complaint myself.

Normally my office manager opens all my mail, but yesterday I opened this envelope. And I'm very fortunate that I did because my office manager told me that if she had opened this herself, she would have cut a check for $180 without a second thought. The "invoice" is very official-looking but it is clearly meant to confuse, obfuscate and deceive.

I hope that you are able to help stop this deceitful practice. Thank you for your assistance!
