I almost got scammed for a contract position in advertising. The whole process was so quick, all within about a week. They wanted me to fill out personal information including my SS# before even being able to review the contract, despite me requesting it to review more than once. And they wanted me to share personal documents via video before even starting. They also said that they were sending a laptop before I even signed anything. They seemed like very legitimate companies (I'm not sure if those companies are scams or if the scammers are posing as these companies), and were professional, but no employer would request these things before anything was reviewed and signed. And the agency was supposed to do a video call with me for the interview, but both people on the other end didn't show their faces, just their voice...."technical difficulties". One person did eventually video chat with me after I had requested it and she was very nice and seemed like she knew what she was talking about, but then I got sent the link to fill out all my personal info. And they just kept adding more and more people to email strings to try and confuse me I think. And nothing was set up, no meetings were set to meet with the team or review any projects or tasks, I didn't even get any type of schedule or start time.
