I just had the same thing happen that everyone else is saying to the T. He requested a painting job from us. What a waste of time I just sent him an invoice. I don’t understand what he’s getting out of these scams unless he’s working for yelp. To make you think yelp is giving you business.

The Scammer Continues

The same guy using that email address wanted me to paint a house in Tampa. He told me the same thing about moving from Colorado to Florida and same payment plan. I looked up Zillow to see when the house was last sold and then I went into the county property records and his name is NOT on the deed. He's using a different phone number 970-744-5788

He said he got my phone number from Yelp. I don't understand what the scam is and what he's trying to accomplish with this scam. No professional is going to do work without talking to the client first...I tried to get him to call me and he ignores that request which was the first clue.

I’ve received reports that [email protected] is using my home address to scam small home improvement businesses. We had contractors show up to provide an estimate and others find me and reach out to let me know about it.

My dad’s business was recently contacted by this person. Using the phone number of (863) 434-7351 and email [email protected]. Supposably he was moving from Colorado to Santa Ana, CA. But he needed some flooring to be installed, that he had everything, my dad’s company just needed the tools to install. We sent him an invoice and he said he was going to pay 50% and the other 50% after the job was done. But I searched up his number and the number did come up as a scam, I searched up his name and first thing that popped up was this website, where he’s an imposter. So, please be careful!

Wayne McGinnis is a scammer!

He contacted me and said that he wants 4 duravit high end toilet's installed in a house that he didn't even live in that was enough to know it was a scammer so I played possum just to see how far it would go.
The fake check came via FedEx and I told him that I cashed it and wasn't giving him a dime , I didn't cash it just wanted to see him get mad and he did I never thought about it until I sat down and thought about it he could of destroyed my business and reputation.

He just texted me asking information to write in the check, I give the name and address because it is a public information. The conversation was the same as yours, he even sent me pictures of the pool to be cleaned.

we received a text message and email for a Solar panel project on a new home supposedly purchased by this client. He said he was moving from Colorado to California and needed to install solar panels before moving in. He offered to send us 50% of estimate price to start the project by mailing a check. we didn't move forward after we found out it was a scam.

Our business was contacted to work on a floor remodel project on a new home supposedly purchase by client. He said he was moving from Colorado to California and needed the floor done before moving in. He offered to send us 50% of estimate price to start project and that he was going to include extra money he owed the previous owner and asked us as a favor to hand that amount to owner upon meeting to obtain keys to enter and start project. Upon us getting a cashier's check ready to hand to such previous owner we informed the client we had it and ready to meet with previous owner and that's when this client ordered us to take cashier's check to FedEx and mail to a Colorado location. That's when we realized this was suspicious and cut all communication with him and report it. Please beware and extra cautious.
