I received a text regarding a potential job. Offer was $35 an hour per 40 hrs a week. Two week training period from 8-11am at $15 an hour. Was emailed a summary of the company and jobs they were hiring for. Was for a work from home position and the interview was via Zoom’s chat service. I was offered the job and was to start training that Monday from 8-11. I was asked to write an essay type 2 1/2 page Word document to assess my communication skill set. I was told they would send me a check to purchase the equipment needed for the position. After a quick search of the the company, I found a few websites where employees rated their experience with this company. But after the essay, my gut still thought it’s too good to be true. Did a search for Wavin B.V. and ready about the company. I was told they were Dutch and did something with plastic pipes for drainage and water supply purposes. After my further research, the true company is based in Poland and has nothing to do with pipes. Not continuing my “training” tomorrow and hopefully they just go away.
