I live in the Lubbock Texas rural area. I received a call yesterday afternoon, there was no telephone ID, it could have shown up as "unknown" or "private caller". The man identified himself as an employee of Dish Network, he gave me his name as "Ben" and his ID as "#350". He told me Dish was updating some information on their units and wanted me to turn on my unit and go to the screen where some of the identifying codes, etc. are. I asked him his name again and then told him I was pretty busy at the time, could he give me a phone number and I could call him back when I had time. He then hung up. I called Dish Network to see if they were doing this kind of thing. The representative there told me that no, they would never initiate a phone call asking a customer to update anything. They would ask the customer to do this if the customer initiated a call in with a problem. If anything came from Dish it would be in an email, or mail or something. She was going to report it to their fraud department. She said they were probably trying to get me to give them the Receiver# or my security code so they could do something with it.

Just thought this warning might be helpful for others.
