Phone rings from number in my State recorded voice says "Hi I am calling from the Warranty Department, can you hear me?"

I had heard about scam on the news and so hung up.

- Pittsburgh, PA, USA

Received a telephone call from this number just now and when I answered heard "Hi this is Allison from the warranty department, can you hear me okay?"

- Akron, OH, USA

On 02.07.2016 at 12:55 p.m., I received a phone call. Our Caller ID displayed the number as 330-752-7151 (spoofed?). Immediatley after I said Hello, a female voice said, "Hello, this Allison from the warranty department. Can you hear me ok?" I did not say anything and hung up. The words were perfectly spoken, very clear sounding, upbeat and spoken in a semi-fast manner. There was no background noise at all. It did sound as if it was recorded. This call was received in Summit County, Ohio, which uses the 330 Area Code.

A recent article in our newspaper warned of this type of scam and included the information to notify the ScamPulse.com scamtracker service. I did not know you offered a scamtracker service until 2 days ago. If the rate of suspected scam calls we have been receiving continues, I will try to send more info. It has been terrible lately.

This is one of the "can you hear me okay" calls.

- Minneapolis, MN, USA

As heard on our local TV news, the phone call was the "Can you hear me?" phone scam. When I picked up the phone, the voice said "This is Allison from the warranty department. Can you hear me?". Because of having been warned by the newscast, I immediately hung up. The voice did not have time to say anything else, however I will say that it did NOT sound like a robot, it sounded like a real person. (But I maybe didn't hear enough to know for sure). After hanging up, I dialed *69 to check the last number that called your phone and the above phone number was the one given. The area code is the same as the area code where we live. (By the way, the state and zip code listed below ARE correct, even though this form shows it as "invalid").

- Saint Paul, MN, USA

The computer voice was a woman saying something like "Hi this is Allison from the Warranty Dept, can you hear me ok?" I said nothing, she continued and ended with another question "Would you like to hear your options?" Then I hung up.
