My elderly parents received a call from Jamaica by a Walter Green, claiming they had won $5 million dollars. Mr. Green requested a $125 Amazon Gift Card in order to "process" their winnings. After falling for that, even though I strongly suggested this was a scam, they went ahead and purchased the gift card and provided the information needed to use the card to Mr. Green. Subsequent calls were arranged to supposedly make arrangements for the lottery payout. 2 calls later, another $350 Amazon Gift Card was requested. Finally, they realized they were being scammed.
Now, while they were out purchasing the $125 card, Mr. Green called our home number and I answered. I told him he would be reported for scamming my parents and I requested stop calling. Obviously, he ignored this and proceeded with his thievery.
