I contacted this guy supposedly named Walt beach on Zillow for a 4 bedroom at 301 wachula Dr Woodstock 30066. He had informed me that the place had been taken and quickly reassured he had another place with a little more room ... He invited me out to see the home but once I arrived he was no where around . He then called me with an access code . I entered it and it allowed us to get inside the home . We really were excited .. I immediately told him we would love it and then he proceeds to tell me about how he recently relocated to Kansas City . I was a little worried but I went along ... He asked for the security deposit and application fee .. he told me about how I needed to send it to his attorney so at the end of my lease my deposit would be refunded . I questioned it but he assured me he would be coming the next day for paper work and first month rent as well as to give me the keys to the house and everything ....So I proceeded with the transaction and sent 100 $ to cover application fees and 900$ for deposit to Devin Mclees . In Kansas I.D pick up was required ... And He Then told me how everything had been confirmed ... and I could proceed to move into the home that night .. as I did ... I moved into the house with my family . The next morning I woke up he texted me on how his wife was majorly sick and in the hospital . So I wished her well and proceeded with my moving process he then informed me the transaction for the deposit didn’t work and I needed to send it to his wife’s doctor Gabrielle Mariah Smith who happens to be located in mableton. Alarms immediately went off . I rushed over to The nearest money gram and seen the 100 $ had been recieved ... the 900$ had a hold on it . As soon as she looked at my receipt she immediately informed me it was a scam she had seen it before . I got my refund and I went to the house to figure out what was going on. I couldn’t get in touch with him so I walked around the neighborhood nobody seen or knew him at all . A very kind neighbor called the property manager and shocked me with the news that the guy Walt beach . Had NOTHING to do with this home ... And we were informed we had to be out that night ... which was very disappointing to my family ... I’m just trying to get this out there to help you protect yourself in the future ... maybe this guy could be the “home-owner” your speaking to ... We Lost 100 $ but luckily got the 900$ back ... Be careful out there
