I was offered a secret shopper position with Walgreens Boots Alliance. I was contacted by Victoria Beverly via email and also by text message. I was sent a check (which I have a copy of) for $1350.75. I was told to deposit it and wait for the funds to clear my bank. I received the check on Friday, May 24th of 2024 and deposited it that day. By the next day, $225 had cleared my bank and by Tuesday, May 27th 2024, the remainder cleared my bank. I was then told to get $1000 worth of Nordstrom gift cards and then send copies of my receipts and gift cards through text message to Walgreens Boots Alliance. They had me go to 2 different local Walgreens stores to rate their service or so I thought. I was told my pay was $250 of the total check sent to me and then to keep the remainder in my checking account for future "jobs". So by Thursday, June 6th 2024, the check was returned to my bank. I was told by my bank that I was responsible to pay that money back to them since the check was returned. I feel very violated. $1350 is a lot for me to come up with and have to pay back to my bank. I do have all the paperwork and correspondences from Walgreens Boots Alliance. I have since had to change banks and pay for other returned checks from payments that were to come from my checking account but were not paid because of all of this.

This person reached out to us, a technology company, asking if we could quote them some laptops. They said that they were referred to us by HPE (Hewlett Packard Enterprises). He said, and his email signature stated, that he was the Purchase Manager for Walgreens Boots Alliance. He then said their bill to/ship to name was DTE Energy Corp. When we tracked the ship to location it was storage space.

Am a freelance writer, independent contractor, signed up with Freelancer.com and applied for a bid for work at home, no details. Won bid, received information (Word DOC file). Began daily conversations on Google Hangouts via messaging. Promised (received today) cashier's check for needed equipment for Customer Service 40/hr work at home. Equip has monitoring device. Will be trained $20/hr for a week, and then $25/hr after that. The person I spoke with to this date is Kathleen - see DOC. CASHIER'S CHECK dated Dec 30, 2015, for $3,850.00, she says $150 of money is a "signing bonus"; that W2 was going to be forwarded. SEE PICS OF CHECK.
