Vivint representative called from 877 404 4129 and left a voice mail message for me to call back as soon as possible. I did not recognize the number but assumed it was my health insurance provider. So called the number back (877 404 4129 ext 8396) and the lady (Julie) said they had my signature on a contract for solar panels for a building in California. The contract was supposedly signed in June of 2022. I told her that I did not live in California and had never ordered solar panels for anything in any state. I asked how she got my phone number and she said it was in their system. Again I said I did not order solar panels for anything in any place and she said she didn't how my name and signature on the contract. I could not get her to acknowledge that a mistake had been made and that they had the wrong person. My concern is that they have my name, my phone number and supposedly a contract with a name the same as mine and are taking advantage of senior citizen (I am 75 years old).

A guy knocked on my door said he was here to check my electric meter.

I asked why? He said

That we had the meter upgraded to the remote transmission 3 yrs ago and that the law says we ( the homeowner) must now provide 50% of the power or we will get in trouble. I asked are you with Southern California Edison. He said that he is here for them. And that he needs to check the meter to see if I qualify for a discount to receive help in complying with the new law. I asked again are you with sce, he ignored the question. I asked if he was here to sell something? He said no, just here to see if I qualify for discount to comply with new law. I again asked was he with sce. No response. So I asked to see the badge he had, which was backwards. He flipped it around and it said vivint solar.

He was using scare tactics, lies, and full on mis represented what he was there for. Which is to sell solar. There is No Law requiring 50% for old homes. However there is a law that all New built homes must have solar. And that doesn’t happen till 2020. In CA. I would never use a solar company that sends out someone to prey on folks. With lies.
