VVR trailer report scam

I had the same experience as the two cases described above. Camper trailer, expressed interest, requested VVR report via provided specific website (www.vinvehiclepro .com). Could come and see it tomorrow around 2, needs to take the day off and make arrangements with friend before shift ends (applying subtle pressure). Then a new twist: I was asked to share a screen shot of the website with him while I was getting the report "cuz i seriously don't want you to waste your money on any other fake website". All along my "scam sensors" were on high alert, and after the last text I started checking out the details on line and came across this website which describes two weirdly similar scenarios. Thanks for helping me avoid a difficult and possibly costly outcome!

After posting an ad on KIJIJI to sell a 5 ton truck... I was contacted by someone interested in coming to see it. The text read: “ Cool, Lets setup for tomorrow at 2? I'll ask my manager for a day off also talk to my friend that's all are the part of arrangements LOL. Can you provide me CV Report?” The scammer than requested: You can get recent CV Report from https://www.vinvehiclepro.com Oh, I forgot to ask for your name? My name is Anderson, I've sent you a link for the CV report because i did couple of reports in the past never had an issues so i trust the results its cheap so i referred. It shows all of the history like recall, title & mileage verification and history info that i need to see.…

The report collected our card information. The report was not correct and a receipt read from vincheckup.com.

The website even has a help option but clearly was not helpful. We had to cancel our card and now will watch any suspicious activity.
