Jason Strikes Again!

I was selling a kubota, Jason texted me, very pushy with incomplete sentences. He wanted the VEI Report and directed me to his scamsite. I did not pursue this any further, in part thanks to this group. Here’s our text conversation pasted below:

Jason - Kubota B2650 Tractor ?

Me - Yes

Jason - Great Oh, So how long have you had it form?. Any mechanical work other then the general maintenancee..? where are you exactly located?

Me - I've had it for 3-4 years, it has 190 hours on it, no mechanical work other than maintenance. We're in Flinton

Jason - do for tomorrow at 2pm... I'll arrange a day off before leaving tonight. Oh forgot to ask, Can you send me the VEI papers work report?

Me - What's a vei report?

Jason - [www.vinenterinfo .]com You can get the papers from ...Ohh,I forgot to ask your name? I'm Jason

VINENTERINFO.COM is a scam

I got a text reply day after advertising a bike for sale. This guy said his name was Branden. Same story as the other complaints. I called him on the scam report and then he ghosted me. Wish I had googled it first. I’m pretty sure it’s a scam to get your PayPal password. I did pay for the report but did not put in my real PayPal password on the site. I have multi factor authentication so no harm but beware!

You nearly got me Jason!

His disclaimer at the bottom of his sites says it’s NMVTIS approved, I had to go to NMVTIS’s site to verify that it wasn’t. Watch out for Jason’s texts! It even came from a local area code. This is the closest I’ve ever been to being scammed. Definitely did not expect to be tricked on just ordering a VEI report.

Just got the scam text from Jason

Jason texted interested in my RV listing. Gonna come see it but first if I could get this vin “report”… googled and found this instantly, was able to text Jason these complaints within minutes of his text… haven’t heard back from him. Be careful out there!

Jason tried to scam me

I listed my RV for sale yesterday and got a text message from Jason today. He said he would take the day off work tomorrow and come see it but he needed me to do a VEI report first so he could see all the info he needed like mileage, recall history, title, etc. I have never heard of a VEI report so I googled it. Glad I did and that everyone on this board had posted about it. Don’t get scammed! I told him to F off and that I knew he was a scammer. And then I blocked the number.

Ford Lawn 8Tractor

I listed a small Ford lawn tractor for sale. The next day a guys named Jason said he wanted to buy the tractor at full asking price but I had to do a vinenterinfo report first. None of the people I know who regularly deal in tractors and other landscaping equipment had heard of this site. When I said no to Jason. I told him to buy the report and if he bought the tractor I would give him the $$$ he spent on the report. He continued to pressure me to buy the report and even offered almost twice what I was asking for the tractor if I got the report. At this point I thought this was a scam. After reading other experiences I'm pretty sure it is.

I listed a vehicle for sale on Commercial Truck Trader. Shortly after listing on this website a person named Jason contacted me wanting to purchase the vehicle but asked me to send him the VEI report. He directed me to the website to get the report. Luckily I checked with the ScamPulse.com and the website is listed as a phasing scam.

I listed my motorhome for sale online and was contacted via text about it the next day. The "buyer" wanted me to send them "VEI papers work report" which "Terry" described as being "vehicle history like recall, title & mileage verification and history info that i need to see" from www.vinenterinfo.com. I told him that I will not use the site as it appears to be a scam. This site is NOT listed as safe by the National Motor Vehicle Title Information System government site.
