Type of a scam Employment
I was looking for a second job through an online website and came across a job as a mystery shopper. I submitted an online resume and shortly after was contacted via email from said employer. A few days after the initial contact a check was sent to me in my name with a set of instructions. I was instructed to cash the check at my bank and once the check cleared I was instructed to go to an establishment and make a purchase. As I tried to make the purchase I was told that I could not. I then reported back to the employer what happened and told them that I would be reporting them.

Type of a scam Fake Check/Money Order
I received a letter in the mail with a cashier's check enclosed. I was told to mystery shop Walmart by purchasing Walmart gift cards to evaluate their customer service.
I have done a lot of mystery shopping and have never been sent a payment up front. I am aware of the scams so this raised a red flag to me
