Posted a vehicle for sale on craigslist/skagit. An individual responded via text and asked normal questions ie.how long I owned it,have I done regular maint. ect. Then set a time and place to meet. 30min. after that individual text again and said they needed the VIR on the vehicle before looking at the vehicle. They gave me a web site link to acquire a vin. report and said he needed to see the report before coming to look at the vehicle. The web site was vininstantreport.com. The web site charged $25.00 for the report. I acquired the report. then text him I had it. They then wanted me to send it to them before they came to look at the vehicle. I responded that I had the report in my possession and it was good and would show it to them when we met. They insisted I send them the report,but I refused. At that time they stopped texting and didn't show for meeting. I believe this web site is getting people to call vehicle for sale ads and requiring them

to go to this web site and purchase these reports then the individuals get the people selling the vehicle to e-mail them the report to verify to vin instant record that they got that person to buy the report and vininstantreport.com pays them a fee for doing so.

Individual pretend to be interested in buying your vehicle but wants a vehicle history report through a certain website. Once you do get him the report through his site he won’t reply no more.
