Facebook Marketplace item I sold for 3000.00. Buyer sent check #00153917 from HSBC Bank USA. Address on Priority Mail Dominion Payroll Services of Florida. Amount 5,200.34 to pay for trucking company prior to pick up. Check deposited at Valley Stong Credit Union Lodi CA. Several days went by and I was informed that the funds were available. Buyer had a family emergency and needed to stop transaction and to please return funds. Which I did as requested via Zelle and visa gift card. Shortly thereafter I checked my bank account and the check had bounced. When I asked the bank how this could happen, I was told I had requested the hold be removed. That was not the conversation I understood. All I knew was that the funds were available. I went into the bank to speak with them but found there was nothing to do on their side and that I had been scammed.
