They called me multiple times and sent emails from that email stating there was fraud on my account and that they were sending me a pin to verify my identity. Then they stated that scammers hacked into my account, used my account information to create a duplicate account and used it as a bridge to get a transaction of $1200 from someone’s account. They kept stating they had the other girl on the line as well who the $1200 was stolen from. They then told me they were going to close the bridge account and reverse the $1200 into my original Venmo account and they wanted me to take the money out of the Venmo account and transfer it to the other girl via cashapp, Apple Pay, or google pay. Once i hung up the phone on them they called me two more times then i received an email saying they changed the email address on my Venmo account. Now i no longer have access to that account and my banking information is on there. Unfortunately, when you call Venmo’s actual number it says they’re closed due to covid. TERRIBLE.
