I saw a design that was funny at the store window, and I sent a picture to my friends. One of them asked me to purchase it, so I went into the store and asked about the design in his size. The store clerk seemingly went to retrieve the design and told me to meet him at the counter. There were other people in front of me, so I checked my phone to answer some messages and check my email. I thought tghe shop clerk had retrieved a sweater with the design, and would tell me how much it is. I was expecting it to be on the higher side, $40-50, since it was at Venice beach. I wanted to check with my friend before we bought it.

But the clerk had retrieved a blank hoodie and stamped the design on it before I even had a chance to ask about the price. I was charged $70 for the hoodie and $40 for printing fee, as well as $40 for custom design. I also bought a shot glass, which was $14. None of this price was clearly communicated to me before the purchase went through, and the shop owners simply pointed at a very small sign with the prices. It is clear that they use the small sign to remove legal liability and claim they are communicating costs, but that they trick the customers into making the purchase by being intentionally vague and through intimidation (the clerks were large men and I am a small woman).
