This is a typical scam.
They will send a check, yet it will be for more than the agreed payment amount.
You will pay back the remaining balance.
Weeks later, the check they gave you bounced so it's you paying them.

I just got the same fishing email that many others have reported here. It seemed a little off, and a cursory googling landed me here. Thanks to all who have posted about this before me (and everyone should read downwards for some good stories).

So I googled. And lo and behold, the plethora of people having the same exact responses verbatim.. Just the name and address matching the first page of Google results with suspicious activity and scamming people threw so much off and I'm glad I researched.

I am sorry for the late reply, I receive a ton of emails on a daily basis.
As a new client and due to the delayed response, I am lowering my fee to $500: I always ask for half of it upfront.
I am going to need about 2 to 3 weeks to create the finished project for your.
Sorry to hear for the hacking experience, I recently had the same experience: I have transitioned over to PAYPAL which is safe and secure.
Here is my process (Upon receipt of 50% of the fee):
Within the first week, I will forward you my tops 3 sketches for your review and approval
Once you have picked your top choice, I vectorize the logo
At the point you will do one last final review to proceed
I will refine and provide you with a few mock-ups along with Finished Logo in different formats

But they where persistent and asked me to send them my information, so I google their address and email and I found this page. So I sent them this email, maybe they stop scamming freelancers!
I think you don't search google, everyone knows you are a scam! Find a better way to make money!

I am a freelance designer in Arizona and have been around the block a few times and when they stated that they would send me a check first. That brought up a red flag. Something didn't sit right with this. So I looked up the name Zee Auto Part Shop, and found this page. Thank God I do my research on every potential client.
