Was texted by “Lucas” who I thought was interested in buying a car I have for sale. He wanted a report from VehiclesDatabase.com. I’ve never heard of this website before so I Googled on whether it’s a scam. Sure enough it is! Read more about this kind of scam here on BBB, and also learned about approved auto report websites listed at the NMVTIS website (https://vehiclehistory.bja.ojp.gov/).

A person will contact you about the vehicle that you have for sale. Then he will ask you to buy a report with a promise to make an appointment to buy the vehicle. After the report is purchased the guy will call and tell you something came up and he can't come for a couple of days then weeks.
