I listed a vehicle for sale online. On 7/30/2023 I received a text from a potential buyer who set up a time to come look at the car for the next day. He requested a vehicle history report from VehicleFactsVerifier rather than Carfax as a preferred service claiming it was more up to date. The website VehicleFactsVerifier.com looked legit. I purchased a vehicle history report on the car for $25 giving my email address, phone number, my car's VIN #, and then using a credit card that was processed via PayPal from website he requested ...... vehiclefactsverifier.com. I then received an email from [email protected] with a link to my car's vehicle history report that I could print. This report did provide some of the information of the car we are selling that appears to be correct. I realized afterwards the scam. The potential buyer immediately disappeared and I cannot find any information on the company or website as being a "legit" vehicle history report provider. The payment came through Paypal to my credit card as "GlobalTech".
