Vegan-Digital Impostor Reports & Reviews (1)

I recently got hired by Vegan-Digital through Indeed as a "Virtual Assistant," and trust me when I say that it was quite difficult to determine their authenticity. Their website has some professional looking certifications, and their email isn’t a Gmail account. It is "@vegan-digital.com," which is usually a green flag. The hiring process was through email and over the phone, which felt very professional. The hiring manager was a chinese woman who went by the name of Neil Sawyer. The training manager was a chinese man by the name of Jason Lee, and I was welcomed in by another manager by the name of Laura Len. I spoke to Neil Sawyer and Jason Lee over the phone a few times. Another green flag was that they never asked for my bank information until after I was hired. They made an employee agreement with fair terms, nothing seemed too out of the ordinary. They never asked for my social security number, and I never gave it out.

The first nail in the coffin was the usage of telegram during training, which, of course, is a huge red flag in itself. I decided to refrain from giving them any of my bank account information until I worked for a few days and did some research. This was because their training program felt potentially legit, I learned a few things about marketing.

My research wasn't too successful. I took my time looking for any official social media platforms or customers, but I couldn't find anything, which made me pretty nervous. There were no reviews to be found.

On the second day of training, they brought up crypto and bitcoin and requested I make an account with them. I immediately stopped working and focused on deeper research. Crypto has an extremely bad rep for scams, and I was in no way interested in making an account there. It was the moment the red flags outweighed the green.

I found them mentioned in the Better Business Bureau as a potential scam: ************************************************* I never thought to check reddit, but I'm glad I did. I found a few posts from other people who claimed to be scammed by this company. This is still the second day of training, and I have quit the job. I'm so relieved I caught on so quickly and found those posts. This is my first "job," so learning about what to look for in terms of a scam was a 4 day process. I'm very thankful I didn't give out any information other than showing my ID, which I'm about to replace for a driver's license soon anyway. Do not accept a job offer from this company.
