I first got an email saying the employer got my application through Indeed. Then they asked me to submit my resume to their "client" Accenture for the role of Social Listening Associate. The email stated that in order for me to move ahead I had to send them my updated word resume, and a valid photo ID copy. I sent them my information and Joseph (the recruiter I assume) scheduled a Microsoft teams interview. When I got the email, I noticed multiple people were also sent it. Then after I confirmed the interview, Joseph continued to call me to confirm the interview, and that if I don't go through with it, he will get in trouble with his boss. So it made me feel bad for him and I reassured him I would be ready for the interview. Joseph had a really hard accent (Pakistan, Arabian, I don't know), so it was already tough for me to understand exactly what he was saying. I noticed a lot of background noise during the call as well. I had every intention of making the Microsoft interview, but also had a phone interview with another company thirty minutes before. Joseph called me twice in the morning before the interview, on the third time I answered and confirmed the interview but told him I had to go. As I was on the call with the other company, Joseph called me over ten times and left voicemails. When I was a minute over the Microsoft interview, he canceled and said we could reschedule. I called back and told him how I don't want to move forward with the process because it sounds like a scam, and I wasn't comfortable. It was hard for me to distinguish whether it was a scam at first, because the company on the job description (Accenture) is a legit company. But I don't feel right having sent them my ID (with my address blocked at least), but I'm worried they're gonna use my date of birth or ID number to mess up my credit or do whatever scammers do.
