Type of a scam Online Purchase

When I completed my transaction for an order through PayPal and got directed back to the merchant’s website, there was no confirmation number but a message saying “cart empty”. Since I made the purchase, I attempted to contact the merchant three times. I used the support contact link on the website and I also sent two emails to the seller’s personal email account regarding my order. I asked for a confirmation email and number along with a confirmation of shipment with tracking of my order. I haven’t had a response since then. When I checked my PayPal earlier today, I noticed that the seller provided a tracking number. According to the tracking number it stated package arrived on August 16, 2021 at mailbox at 3:03pm. However, there was no package. I never received anything. I believe I got scammed.
