I was contacted via message on middle of screen stating computer had been infected, call XYZ number. I called and talked with a man, who said he was a tech 3, he ran a scan and said it was really bad, that I could take it somewhere and it would take 5-7 days, or it could be accessed on-line and would take 1-2 hours. They then connected me with a tech 5 who ran a scan for about 25 minutes. they then asked me to write a check - cause you don't want to give your credit card #, and had FedEx pick up the check - and call the next day to "confirm" all is working. I wised up, computer to geek squad, cancelled the check, changed all credit cards and bank, etc. They have continuously called and sent email using 9 different phone numbers and multiple email addresses. I have blocked each number/email, but they keep contacting me.
