A pop up came up on my husbands computer. They took over his computer and then proceded to fix it. About 15 minutes time to do this. then they said it would $1250.00 for a 5 year protection. i gave them a check. My husband was furious. Said it was a scam. In the contract I received you could get a refund with 30 days. I called them 5 days later and told them to cancel this and refund my money. Five months later I am still trying to get my refund. I have called every other day and they always tell me someone in management will call back which they never do. How do I get my refund back?

I was contacted by Vantronix IP Solutions when my computer was locked.They charged me $1363 Canadian and took over my computer and made a bunch of changes to apparently increase security and encrypt my computer. They have contacted me twice to make sure I have no problems and if I have they have fixed them. I get this service for 3 years.
I am concerned this is a scam and I need advice on what to do. I certainly don't want them draining my bank accounts.
Please let me know what I should do.

A pop up message came up on my father's computer that said Microsoft had disabled the use of this computer due to compromised activity. The Microsoft logo was displayed and it looked 100% legitimate. It provided a phone number to call for help (1 844 259-1467)

Unbeknownst to me, I called the number assuming it was Microsoft tech support. The gentlemen guided me through a few steps to find out what the issue was, at one point he asked me to grant him access to the computer via ultraviewer. All this time, I am thinking this is Microsoft! After pointing out that the IP address was compromised and being used by others, he explains that we needed to install a firewall and offered three options: Basic for $299, Advanced for $499 and Hierarchical for $699. At this point is when I started getting suspicious and told him I would need to consult this with my father. He continued to say that the IP address and the computer would not be safe unless the firewall was installed. I argued that I was uneasy with this and that I found this highly suspicious. He provided the company's web address, his name and phone number to make me feel comfortable and said I didn't have to pay via credit card, that I could pay by check. After I asked if this was Microsoft he said Microsoft refers companies to address these issues. After I continued to say this didn't seem right he proceed to hang up. I am now panicking as I gave him access to my father's computer. Help!
