The interviewer posed as Olga Damiron from the French company Vantiva, offering a variety of jobs ranging from HR, administrative assistant, data entry, software developer, etc. None of these positions were listed on Vantiva's website. The interview was done through Signal's texting feature exclusively, with no voice or video confirmation to confirm "Damiron's" identity, they also lacked a profile photo. It was a seemingly standard interview up until the end. Once I was offered the job and agreed to the position "Damiron" sent a list of equipment I would need for the job including: 3-in-1 printer, iPhone 13, Apple Laptop, etc. Before the job offer could be reviewed in written form, or any paper could be signed, a check of $2755 was sent to me via email to be used to purchase said materials. It was also stated that it was to be sent to a company-specific vendor that had the equipment ready to go, versus paying the vendor to send the equipment directly to me.

"Damiron" has continuously asked if the check has gone through, and will not move forward with the application process until the equipment is ordered from the unspecified vendor.

They contacted me via phone saying. They wanted to interview for a position. I went through the interview, and they said they wanted to hire me. then they said they would send me a check "For my equipment". They expressed that I had to buy the equipment specifically from there vendor. I had to print and then use my mobile app to take a picture and deposit into my bank. My bank flagged it as “Altered and suspicious” I called the police and they said that it was a scam. Now, I am getting more of these types of scams from different companies it seems. They would not give me an email address or contact me by phone. The site has no physical location, and it doesn’t have a contact number. I looked up the company on review sites and I’m not the only one they tried this on. In one case they perpetrators got away with it.
