Type of a scam Vanity Award
Answered internet ad for vanity publishing of my book on the site 'AMZpublishingpros.com situated in Irvine California that quoted US$300 to publish my book. Thought I was dealing with Amazon, their ad portrays that. I was told that US$300 would get my book published and onto Amazon within 3 weeks. I gave them my credit card number for $300 on a Friday in October, only to get a call on the following Monday requesting a further US$150 to cover marketing, which I fell for. Further calls from a man calling himself Nick Nelson, Project Manager ensued. I was asked for a further $150 for a hardcover, $400 for an international USBN code which I refused. The background noise from this company sounded like a call centre. Both Nick Nelson and his boss Lee White were Asian. My son finally blocked them from messaging or calling me and said to report the scam. I'm a senior on a fixed income who wrote a beautiful book about searching for my Irish ancestry and the emotion let down is devastating as well as the money I lost. They preyed on my dream on being a published author and scammed me. I'm embarassed as well after telling everyone my book would be out for Christmas. I'm hoping you can help me.
