Andrew Grimes - Vanessa Bruno Retoucher Scam

Was contacted through email about a remote job. Was asked to message on the wire app about an interview (which seemed off to me). The “interview” was done all via text and really didn’t ask very deep questions like one generally would for something like this. I am now getting an email asking for all of my bank info for payment and it’s giving red flags. Everything has been very well worded and presented so far, so whoever is behind this is good at what they are doing. I contacted the actual company via email to see if they respond at all.

I was contacted by an HR manager "Andrew Grimes" inviting me to apply for a remote retoucher job at Vanessa Bruno fashion company . I had to contact another person "Mary Strawn" via the messaging app Wire. I had to do the interview through the app asking questions about my experience with photo editing. About 24 hours later, the next day I got a job offer from Andrew Grimes. He sent me over paperwork requiring my personal banking information and passport/ID. All the paperwork looked pretty legit, correct logos and colors with Vanessa Bruno on the letter head and an address from NYC. Up until then I thought it was legit until I started noticing some red flags. The place of business on Yelp was “closed”, there was no Vanessa Bruno company in NYC. Instead it was in Paris France. With a large following online I thought okay this is a real company. Well it is but they are using their name to scam people. I googled Andrew grimes on LinkedIn, Facebook and none exist. I also looked up Vanessa Bruno on LinkedIn and everything was in French, their jobs were In French. This alleged HR manager called me after sending me the offer email from a cell number in Oregon, and I googled the number and it came up as a known scam number with the BBB. The other red flag I saw was the time sheet they claimed to use doesn’t exist either.

Just got this exact same thing as well. As soon as they wanted to do everything over text on the Wire app I felt the red flags as well. Thanks for posting.
