8 September 2021. I received a phone call from "private number". A Constable Mark Simpson, from the Vancouver Police Department, informed me my bank card was being used to attempt to withdraw $18,000. Would be thief had already used card that day, the caller said. I was directed to check my bankcards. None missing. Told to phone 1800 number on the back of the card, immediately upon hanging up this call. I did not call that number. The "private number" phoned again immediately. Hung up when I answered. "private number" called again immediately. Hung up again when I answered. I think this was a scam, with caller hoping to listen in on my call to bank, and collect bank card information.
