Seen it on Craigslist which one cheap for a vacation home on oahu. So i emailed the person and from there they hit me back thru email and they send me form of contract on their home everything so i signed and they said they needed the payment to an zelle account to secure which my bank wouldnt connect to zelle so i ask if had any other payment so i they send me a paypal and cashapp. Therefore, i told my sister to cash app the payment to that person and it was hard to go thru. Second cash app he send a dollar and requested 1290.00 so we send and then 2 days before the date 5/10/2025 we were flying out of maui they requested and 100 for security deposit so i told my sister to send 100 and that person send me another cash app 3rd but the money was already sent and that person was like no wrong one cancel and send it to the 3rd cashapp but the second cashapp already accepted. So that person said they called cashapp to return the 100 and it'll reach my sisters account when we reach oahu and demands we send 100 to the 3rd cashapp so i told that person once we meet in person I'll send and right when we got to oahu he keeps demanding the money and keep demanding to meet before sending the money and he keeps avoiding asking to send the money claiming hes at the office busy so i ask for his office address and he send us an address. Therefore, we went to the office and i ask if that person works there and they said no nobody with the name works there so we went straight to the vacation home and demand to meet there before sending 100 and from there he never replied while i had my 2 kids crying tired of us jst sitting there for 3 hrs waiting for reply or show

I sent an email in response to a listing on Craigslist Madison for a vacation rental house. I received 3 emails asking for more information, including some that was already provided, in strangely worded language, then a fourth message with instructions to send a payment via Wells Fargo "to secure your booking".

Called and asked about vacation rentals then asked if you can hear me and I said yes when I hung up I call back the number and it said that the survey was over

I received a call from this number with an Orlando area code. I answered as I was expecting a call from a dr. office. They pretended not to hear me and told me that they were having trouble with their headset. They tried to offer me a vacation in Orlando. I hung up. I'm not sure what I said though in the meantime and didn't think anything of this until I saw something tonight on nextdoor about this scam.
