Company found me on instagram stating I qualify for a free thermostat. It looked like it was from the province of ontario so I filled it. Later I received a call within like 30min and next day two people came to my door. I opened the door and they stepped right in the house. They did not ask can we come in, just kind of forced themself in. Talked at the entrance. Said they want to see my furnace. We chatted about my water heater and tried to get me to sign up for contract for monthly payments to replace water heater with a tankless water heater and insulate my attic. I said wait wait, lets get back to why you are here, where is my free thermostat. He said you have to sign up first. I threw them out of my house. They were rude on exiting the house . I have it all on camera. They did not arrive in a company vehicle , just a small red car. My advise to you is do not sign up and if you do not let them in your house . Just work with enbridge rebates to get a cheap nest thermostat.
