Contacted via LinkedIn regarding a virtual assistant position for the USC Alumni Association by John Landi. Sent resume & cover letter. Was asked to take a proficiency test & told I would be sent a check for $2950 to purchase a printer, software used for the job, & my first week’s pay. I knew then that the job was a scam. I’ve had training in that area & knew money launderers employ means like that. I also noticed the longer the email was, the worse his grammar became. Another red flag.
