I was working with Chris from Hawaii Moving Pros (808)427-5709 to ship my car from Kahului to my door in Oregon. He told me they would arrange everything and emailed me a total shipping cost invoice for $2,650 on 1.25.24 (4 days before my car was dropped off at the Kahului harbor). Chris asked me to pay a deposit for the trucking company of $300 over the phone after he emailed me the cost and to pay $1990 direct to Matson for the ocean freight after he sent me a link. I was told it would take two to three weeks for my car to arrive. On March 5th, I checked on the status of my car to see it's been sitting at the Oakland port since 2/26 and called Hawaii Moving Pros to check the status. They told me they were not aware the car had arrived and to call a guy names Ronnie who they said was a dispatcher. I called Ronnie on 3/6 who told me they are waiting for prices to change and that they found a driver to pick it up the next day, but I owed over $600 before he can pick it up. I told him I already paid a deposit and that didn't sound correct. I asked him to email me whatever invoice he was looking at and that I needed to look back and review before he moves forward. When I opened up my phone again a few hours later, I see an invoice emailed to me from US Car Transportation (george@usauto- shipping.com) with Ronnie named as a customer rep ([email protected]) for a total cost of $3,495 and a charge of $650 on my credit card from Experienced Auto Transport. They wrote my address in there incorrectly, and the entire thing looked like a scam. The "order for service" had the following other information: US Car Transportation 18484 Preston Road Suite 102 #2005 Dallas TX 75252 800-768-8130 Otto://usautotransport.us/. I went through my transaction history and also saw that I had been charged $350 from the same company on 2/27. I called HI Moving Pros to tell them what was happening and they pretended to be clueless. I emailed George to tell him to refund the payment immediately and called him. On the phone he was adamant that I had agreed to this, that I never read the fine print and that I needed to pay immediately or they will leave my car there and that all holding fees from Matson (because it's been sitting there on the dock and they charge) will be my problem. Since I sent HI Moving Pros the fraudulent invoice, they have ignored my calls. I ended up having to pay for a one way flight to Oakland to pick up the car myself the next day and drive it up to Oregon. When I landed, I called Matson to see who else was authorized to pick up my car and they had the name, Elite Services Group on their records. I've gotten the $650 charge returned and am working with my bank on the $350.
