In August I did a google search for a home modification to lower my monthly mortgage and to get a little extra financial help to do some home repairs. The woman who contacted me her name was Ani Kim and she stated that she was a representative for the USAAdvocates company. We had several back and forth conversations and she emailed me (what looked like legitimate documents) to start the loan modification process. Ani Kim said they require 1500 dollar retainer fee to get everything finalized. We sent her a overnight cashiers check in the amount of 1500 dollars. This went on for a few weeks and for us to not contact our mortgage company because her team was handling everything and discussing with our mortgage company our loan modification. We are now behind on our mortgage because we were under the impression that she and her team were taking over with a new lender that would lower our mortgage. The whole time she insisted everything was fine and we we’re definitely going to get the modification. A gut feeling just didn’t seem right and we called our mortgage company and they insisted they don’t do modifications, my mortgage company said my wife was calling in to speak with them and she wasn’t it was Ani Kim pretending to be my wife. We have this on recording from the mortgage company and doesn’t even sound like my wife. Ani found out that we called the mortgage company and she basically said there’s nothing she can do. This address is a UPS store that the USAAdvocates have. I am planning on filling charges for impersonating my wife as well as scam fraud.
