My mom's boyfriend who lives in California was trying to make a payment to a salesman through Zelle, so i was asked to translate because the salesman didn't speak Spanish (I live in Kansas, so i called him). Salesman name was Carlos Lanires and he was very pushy and pressured them to send money through Zelle under the name West Smith to email [email protected], when i asked why it went to a different name, he told me that West is the accountant for the DMV, we sent $400 and the salesman claimed that he never got the money so he became extremely pushy and asked that we get him an American Express gift card instead for payment and went to the extent of calling on weekends and texting us at 4am pacific time and -6am central time until we asked him to stop! My mom's boyfriend said that he has renewed his license before and never had these problems so i'm thinking that the salesman is the scammer here, HE WAS SO UNETHICAL. I have attached screenshots of the text messages sent to me by him and also a picture of his ID that he shared with me supposedly to prove that he works for a legitimate business.
