I received a text message from a company telling me that I won a grant and that I needed to pay for delivery fees and I can choose the amount that I wanted to be rewarded. It asked for my personal information and stated that one of the agents would call me after I submitted this. I also said if I shared this information publicly or entered any false information I would be disqualified!

I was contacted by a family member who out of no where reached out to me to "see how I was doing" and I replied like I normally would. I was asked if I knew anything about the USA Grant Connect program and again, I replied as if I knew who I was talking to and said I had never heard of it. I was sent info and a link to inquire more information on this "program" and continued to do some research which seemed to be legit. I then was connected with an agent by the name of Mrs. Peggie *** *** who I went thru the free application process with and asked many questions but was still "iffy" about this whole thing. At the end of all this process, I was given multiple options on large sums of grants that I "qualified" for and chose to go with a $15,000 grant with a $300.00 shipping fee. I then asked if I were to send this shipping fee, where would I make the transaction? Is there a link or website that I need to go thru?The response was that I would make the transaction through Wal-mart. I also asked that if I did not receive my $15,000 grant in the amount of time provided, will I be able to get a refund? All questions were avoided and rebutled with fake "Rules & Requirements" and "Terms &Conditions" policies. I continued to search the WWW to see if this was actually legit before replying and making any decisions. I then get another message asking when I would be able to make this shipping transaction and that if I were to make this payment between now and tomorrow, I would receive $15,000 within 7/hrs sharp. Continuing to research the web, I then came to realize that this was definitely a scam and that my family members account had been hacked. I immediately changed all pass codes, removed all email accounts and my personal cell phone numbers. I was able to log out of ALL social media and email accounts before getting back to these people. I finally replied that I knew this was a scam and that all information and numbers they provided WILL BE reported to the BBB.
