I received a phone call from someone who claimed to be with the United States Dept of the Treasury. This person had a thick accent and said he was with the "treasury department" and that because of the government shut down/lack of budgetary funds the treasury was confiscating money from citizens to fund the government. I was given a choice to go to Walmart and purchase $500 in gift cards or provide him with banking information. He told me i would go to prison if I did not comply. I know this is a scam but others may not. This call really has upset me and i want others to know about it so they do not fall for this scam.

Got a call from a 310 number claiming that they were the u.s treasy and that I had an enforcement. The person sounded foreign. The number was 1-310-362-7857

A woman called and said that I have been selected to receive a $9,000 government loan through a drawing. She gave me a different number to call and said it was the u.s treasury department. The lady told me I can receive the funds today to go to a western union an I would have to pay a $329 registration fee. The lady told me to call her once I made it to the store and she would walk me through the process, but it seems as though they want me to send the money and then I wouldn't receive anything! The lady's name was stacey and she called the first time from (206) 2745839 a seattle, Washington number. She then told me to call (206) 2573599, which Is seattle, Washington also. I think it's a scam.
