The website looks like a government site to renew passports. In reality they are “selling a service” to fill out a form you can get for free from the legitimate government website. Beware, because they’ve collected personal information as well!

I was attempting to apply for a passport online and completed all the required forms. However, at the end of the process, the website requested payment. I recalled that government agencies typically require payments via money order or check, so I decided to double-check the website's address. I then discovered that the website ended in ".org" instead of ".gov," indicating it was not an official U.S. government website. Alarmingly, the fraudulent website is designed to closely mimic the appearance of the official government website, even using the same shade of blue in its design.

While I did not submit any payment or credit card details (and my credit is currently frozen), I am extremely concerned because the site already collected my sensitive personal information, including my SSN. This is a very serious matter, as this fraudulent website is actively collecting sensitive data while deceptively imitating an official government resource. I strongly urge the appropriate government authorities to investigate and shut down this website immediately to prevent others from becoming victims of this scam. This experience has been extremely alarming, given the nature of the information they are collecting and the deceptive tactics employed by the website.

Website appearing to offer services for US passport renewal. If you read the fine print, it only auto-generates the paperwork to submit to renew your passport, it doesn't actually include any of the filing costs. I did not read this until too late, and so I submitted my birthdate, SSN, and $89 to a site I can only assume is a scam.
