While on my computer, a pop up from what appeared to be from Apple had a computer voice telling me urgent to call listed number as my computer was in danger of being infected. I questioned the person and they assured me they were support for Apple. They asked for bank account information, email address, and computer password (which in retrospect are three RED FLAGS). They told me they were going to clean up (there was a program CCCleaner used) and then install a new antivirus program (Norton). After taking hours, I got on my phone and googled this, only to realize this is a total scam. I got my bank account closed before any payment took place. I called Apple and they assured me this would never be their policy and that will the scammers were able to access remotely, my computer is too old for Apple to do so. After going offline, shutting down, deleting the software they tried to install I noticed my background and email setups are all different. I have no sites set to automatically login but I do have documents scanned and saved which I fear are now in compromise.
