U.S Marshals / imposter Reports & Reviews (1)

- Portland, OR, USA

They contacted me pretending to be U.S Marshall officers with badge numbers. They cited my specific case number, and said that my name was used when a package was sent to a Texas address and the package contained illegal substances. They then said I was being charged for this crime, and if I didn't want to go to jail then I was to report that I was a victim of identity theft, and they asked if I had had any personal information lost or stolen recently. I said I wanted to cooperate and they sent me to another phone number, with another officer who had a badge who told me that their had been multiple credit card accounts opened my name and they were taking out accounts used on my Wells Fargo account. They wanted me to go to Target to take out a prepaid card so then I could continue to access money once they froze all my credit card accounts. When I checked my account and saw no money had been removed I realized it was a scam and hung up. They preceded to call me from about 20 different phone numbers all with the 310 area code, they texted me as well and skyped me.
