I get about 10 phone calls per day from these “Indian” scammers. Any attempt to ask a question or verify their legitimacy results in a very rude hang up. They want personal information, like my Medicare number, then they want to transfer me to a “specialist” who may or may not be from a legitimate company. I believe that the original robo-call comes from India, via a spoofed phone number, in an attempt to circumvent the “no-call” registry. Furthermore, I believe that the “legit” American company probably has an agreement with the “fake” foreign company to garner these back-door phone responses, which in my opinion, makes them deceitfully complicit in the fraud.
