Type of a scam Tax Collection
broken English asked me my name. He said this is the IRS calling and began his speech. I hung up.
Then I began to wonder what they might have been calling about, so I returned the call to 305-982-5077.
I got a recording that this was the IRS office and we either owed something or were eligible for a monetary
return so contact the IRS at 844-545-5640 at 51 S.W.3rd Ave. Miami, Fla.
I listened, but figured there was no way we are dealing with Miami, Florida...that isn't our region. After I hung up,
I immediately got a call back from 305-396-8427. It was an automated recording. There has been no contact from the IRS by mail and I know we do not owe money. So this is probably a scam, but well executed and people should be aware of it.
