They told me I will be awarded $9500 grant for paying taxes and not filing bankruptcy. They said I had to send $250 for a processing fee. Then when the bank calls you have to pay $850 for them to release the money into your account

I received a phone call yesterday from a number in Washington, DC. and the caller said the Government wants to give me a $9,000 Grant. It is not a school Grant. They just want to reward me for paying my bills on time (or something to that effect). He had a thick accent, so it was hard to understand a lot of what he was saying. Basically this is a $9,000 Government Grant that does NOT have to be paid back. I could use that money, but it sounds too good to be true! Please let me know what you find out.

I received a call from a *** *** telling me that I've been chosen for a US Federal Grant. He said I was going to receive $8,200 per year for the next 3 years. I asked if there were any hidden fees and he said "No, none" . We talked for a while and then at the end, he said I'd need to wire them $250.00 for a registration fee. I knew it !!!

This number called my cell phone, reporting that they were the US Government Grant that wanted to help give me "grant money." It came from a man who have "heavily accented" English. I did not let him get too far, before I told him to take my name off the list. I felt right off it was one of these calls from who only knows where and was not legitimate. I called the number back to see the legitimacy of the call and the number said...."this call cannot be connected." When I pulled the number up online, many people stated they had gotten calls from the same number saying they were giving out federal grant money, and had requested acct. numbers, etc.

I have just now listed my numbers on the National Do Not Call Registry.

These people and phone scammers like this need to be heavily prosecuted, for they pray on the elderly and those who do not understand that people do such things, thus take their money.

Felt you needed to know to have this number on file, if not already!

I got a call for a Government Grant of $10,000 dollars. They told me to call (202)201-2724. He said his name was John Smith at ext. 113. He asked me how I would like to receive my check. So I said,"Money Gram". He said to go to Money Gram and pay $210.00 for a security deposit. That's when I decided to contact BBB.org. and file a complaint. He originally called me with this number: 1(171)720-8834.
